PIVX ROADMAP

2017

In Progress : Community Designed Governance

A movement among the community to redesign the way voting and power is distributed and structured is gaining momentum. This will take months to complete, as we are involving the community and working with the existing governance system to ensure ‘buy-in’ from Masternode Owners.

In Progress : Upgrade to Bitcoin Core 0.12.1

In order to keep in sync with new features and functionality being added to Bitcoin Core, those changes are being merged into the PIVX. This code merge brings us to Bitcoin Core 0.12.1 which was released Feb 23, 2016.

Encrypted Chat System

Encrypted Chat System: We would like a separate panel in the wallet to have an encrypted chat system, to allow public and private groups and private messaging.

Elastic Block Sizes

Elastic Block Sizes: A block size mechanism that allows the blocks to expand on their own to incorporate varying in sizes.

Mobile Wallet Development

Mobile Wallet Development: We want to modify the existing work of Matthew Mitchel who developed the first lite staking mobile wallet for Peercoin, and utilize our master node network to supply the chain bits for the mobile wallets.

Multi-Sig Address Control

Multi-Sig Address Control: We want a tab or menu option, to pull up a window for Multi-Sig address creation and use. Right now everything must be done via the CLI.

Multi-Sig Escrow System

Multi-Sig Escrow System: We would like to have a system integrated into the wallet with it’s own tab, to allow users to create escrow agreements with other users for goods and services, with other users. We would create an additional income stream for qualifying master node owners who hold a…

I2P Network Nodes

I2P Network Nodes: Right now, we have IPv4, IPv6 and Tor Network Nodes, running in dual stack nodes. We need to bring in I2p nodes as another option for the users, and so the users can connects to services on the I2p network.

In Progress : U2F Integration

U2F Integration: We want U2F to be another security option for securing your wallet from hackers and KeyLoggers. U2F requires a hardware dongle (usually with a pushbutton). The Menu option would require easy setup instructions for the most common U2F USB dongles. Installing any software or drivers as required (should work…

In Progress : Full-time Zerocoin Protocol

Full-time Zerocoin Protocol: We will be utilizing the vetted and academically verified Zerocoin Protocol in a manner that will require all transactions on the PIVX network to utilize this protocol. Increasing the security and fungibility of PIVX as time moves on.

Mar 01, 2017 : Official PIVX Website Launched

After a pre-release where the community worked in conjunction with developers to solidify the site, the official PIVX rebranded website was launched with increased functionality, clarity, and vision about PIVX.

Feb 26, 2017 : Network Hits 1,500 Masternodes.

Just over a year after launching, the PIVX network reached 1,500 Masternodes, enhancing the network security and stability, while generating passive income for owners.

Feb 02, 2017 : Voting Tier – Development Started

We have started developing a secondary voting Tier to allow staking users to vote on proposals. This tier would have reduced voting authority, as there is no overhead in staking as with running a Masternode. Example would be since Masternodes must maintain 10k PIVX as collateral, Staking collateral would be 50k…

Jan 21, 2017 : Official PIVX Wallet Released

We released the first PIVX re-branded wallet to the community to use and enjoy.

Jan 15, 2017 : BIP38 Encryption/Decryption

PIVX released the first wallet with BIP38 Encryption/Decryption. BIP38 is the current gold standard way to encrypt a private key with a password. So if someone finds your encrypted key, they can’t decipher it without knowing the password. The result, your own super secured PIVX wallet.

Jan 15, 2017 : Added Multi-Send To Wallet

A simple but robust feature, now users can determine ahead of time where they’d like their stake amounts to go.  You can now send a percentage of every stake to varying wallets/addresses (for example, with each stake you earn, you can seamlessly send a percent to an exchange, or charity,…

Jan 13, 2017 : Masternode Management Panel Added

To further make the wallet useful (and easier) for members, a masternode management panel is being added to allow for simpler access to MN information and functions.

Jan 13, 2017 : Bittrex Trading Tab Added

As one of the leading crypto exchanges, the community felt the need to have an active Bittrex trading tab for ease of trading within the wallet.

Jan 13, 2017 : UTXO Input Splitter Added

The UTXO spitter is a tool used to split an input block of coins into smaller input block of coins. Typically it is used to arrange your inputs for staking at one time, so you don’t have to wait for them to all split down by themselves.

Jan 01, 2017 : New Name and Brand!

The community determined new name and branding was necessary for sustained growth. Successful voting of names, colors, logos were accomplished, and Darknet officially evolved into “PIVX”.

Full-time Zerocoin Protocol

We will be utilizing the vetted and academically verified Zerocoin Protocol in a manner that will require all transactions on the PIVX network to utilize this protocol. Increasing the security and fungibility of PIVX as time moves on.

We would like to have a system integrated into the wallet with its own tab, to allow users to create escrow agreements with other users for goods and services, with other users.

We would create an additional income stream for qualifying master node owners who hold a certain amount of PIVX locked as liquidity in their controller wallet. To be eligible to participate as an impartial escrow agent chosen at random (if eligible). The Escrow agent, once required by either party, would earn a percentage of the transaction (amount is yet to be determined)
